Busy Week for most...

From everything we have been told this week, everybody is working one, two, and sometimes three calls a day. People are going from one job to another, day to day.
Yes, it is very busy for all of us and we have to stay focused on work.
Except it seems for some of members of our organization, who have nothing better to do that to find out who writes this blog. Quit worrying about the author and pay attention to the points being made. Maybe if the Office spent as much time policing itself and less time whining about how tough 'their' jobs are, maybe we can be a better local. It's STAGEHANDS, not CHAIRSITTERS!

New kid on the block?

Forwarded to the author in an email, is a Craigslist employment opportunity for 'production' people. Hope the Office is paying attention and finding out as much as possible. Maybe we can enter into a 'non compete' understanding with them, that will work as all well as all our other 'agreements'...

Spragoo Rules

Proposed amendment to the Constitution:
If you want to leave a call before the end, need a reason to be late, or basically spend the entire call politicking and avoiding work, feel free.
It has the President's Seal of Approval behind it.

Let's Talk About It

Why is it impossible to fill an open job with somebody from the Local? There are currently two 'head' audio jobs available that are going unfilled, at least full time.
In both situations, it is so Management can 'try out' prospective candidates. Yet it one case, it seems like a resident department head is 'keeping his options open' but controlling the job while not actually taking the job.
Everybody wants to make a living but we need to remember that these jobs need to be filled to keep the position viable.
The position should be filled permanently and not used as personal leverage. Where is the Business Agent in all this? The ability to 'rig' the hiring process is becoming common place, because nobody is saying otherwise. Remember - Stand Together or Hang Alone!
