UNION POLITICS:

IATSE Endorses Clinton for President
December 10, 2007

December 10, 2007 - The Clinton Campaign today announced the endorsement of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts (IATSE). IATSE represents more than 100,000 members in the motion picture, theatrical and television professions.

"Hillary Clinton's ability to create real change for America's working families is exactly what this country needs," said IATSE International President Thomas C. Short. "She has the strength and experience to provide quality, affordable health care for every American and rebuild our middle class."

"I am honored to have the support of the hard working men and women of IATSE," Clinton said. "I will continue to stand with them as they fight for fair wages and safe working conditions across our country."

Clinton has received strong support from major unions representing more than 4 million working families nationwide. Her endorsements include the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union; International Associations of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; Transportation Communications Union; National Association of Letter Carriers; International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers; American Federation of Teachers; the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers; Amalgamated Transit Union; and the Office and Professional Employees International Union.

Thomas C. Short said(about Hilary) "She has the strength and experience to provide quality, affordable health care for every American and rebuild our middle class."

That socialist bytch who never worked an honest day in her life does not represent anyone but herself. Her one attempt at socialist health care (using Bill as her puppet) was a dismal failure, as well it should have been. She has no desire to 'rebuild the middle class'. She wants the 'rich' to pay for the 'poor'. Her definition of society is Rich v Poor with nothing in the middle.

Obama isn't that much better but at least he didn't pretend to be from Illinois just to further his personal political agenda.

Look at what caprpetbagging Hilary did for her HOME STATE of New York.

Vote for Obama, vote Independent, even vote Republican, but for God sakes, RUN AWAY from Hilary as though your life depended on it. It does.

I agree.

In the Michael Moore documentary Sicko he said that after Hillary's attempts for national health care failed in the Clinton Administration that she and Bill took some big payoffs from the Health Insurance companies so I am not very confident that she would get us free health care anymore.

What about the IATSE PAC fund? Do you think that we should contribute to political campaigns?

I heard that there is a candidate that is a IATSE UNION Member Dennis Kucinich. If that is true what about voting for him?

Anonymous said...

yer talkin' about voting in the primary?!?
what a waste of time. Why not just wait for the media to decide who the TWO candidates will be. Then don't bother to vote then either, cause you live in a red state and your vote for anyone else won't matter any way.

McCain is the only person REALLY qualified for the job.

What about Obama.....Although his wife gets on my nerves with some of her comments....He had Oprah campaigning for him recently. I do not think that America will vote a ethic person into the White house let alone a women. What about Rudy? I think he has gotten corrupt since 09/11.
The pickings are slim. If Hillary is the Democratic candidate...I will probably vote for her. I think at the end of the day it is who has the most $$$$$$$ gets the vote.

What is so amazing is that any real union member could ever vote for a Republican candidate. That is has always been the party of business not labor. We see workers rights diminished daily by these same people and more of our jobs being outsourced to create more profits for the companies that cut benefits at every turn for existing workers.

It really don't matter which party you vote for. They both have there pros and cons. No matter which party is elected we pay unfair taxes!! The middle class working man will always be the work horse the government rides to get the money!! We know it is all about the money!!!

Yes, I agree sadly most people sell out for the dollar bill instead being a person of real integrity and strength.
Anyone catch the latest news regarding the death of Benazir Bhutto. Now they are reporting that the Pakistan Govt is saying that she hit her head on the sunroof and that is the way she really died. Are you kidding me! Here you have a guy who jumped on the back of her car shooting at her and then he blows himself up and you are going to say over what the doctor said that she hit her head. Give me a break! She was murdered and this was NO accident shows whose side they are on. Not hers....they wanted her dead.

What about a UNION RALLY to show our support for our new President Barry Thomas? Wouldn't it be GREAT if 100 union members came to the next union meeting to show our solidarity and support for the new administration?

Anonymous said...

Never happen!
any one wanna bet?

Anonymous said...

Why not? This is a new year 2008 with a new administration that includes a brand new President. Why not put our feet with our votes and get ourselves to the meeting? 100 members at the next union meeting.....Please spread the word.
THANK YOU EVERYONE.
