On this day in History

The President of the United States, a Texan named Lyndon B. Johnson, signed a bill that created the Corporation For Public Broadcasting in 1967.
Happy 40th Birthday to our Public Broadcast Stations!

I do not know if anyone listens to local talk show radio personality Chris Baker on 740 AM...but if anyone does Clear Channel just cancelled his show and replaced it with the national syndicated show Sean Hannity. I think that it is a shame that Chris Baker lost his job. He lives in Houston and gave his views and opinions based on what is going around in our community whether you disagree with him or not. Also, he and his wife just had a new baby so definitely not a good time to lose his job. If anyone wants to send a email in support of Chris Baker, the Program Director's email at 740 KTRH is BryanErickson@clearchannel.com
Thank you.

The League of American Theatres and Producers and Local One, the stagehands union, after not speaking to each other for a few weeks, agreed to return to the negotiating table Nov. 7.

The cast of upcoming discussions will include Tom Short, the head of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local One's parent union, and, to some minds, the only guy who can make something finally happen. Short's the man who has to give the go-ahead before Local One can strike, and so far he hasn't done that.

Negotiations are also scheduled for Nov. 8 and 9. Union officials have indicated in the past that they won't work without an agreement past the end of the month. That gives both sides three weeks to figure something out. Hey, if nothing is settled by Nov. 22, maybe the producers and stagehands could all have Thanksgiving dinner together! I'll bring the cranberry sauce.

pbs taught us all how to count and sound out letters and sing really cool songs that deal with numbers and letters.
greatly appreciated! thanks pbs!

unfortunately, something was lost in traslation for jethro howard.
mixing up the rules to the 'which one doesnt belong' song. he would always choose 3 squares not belonging to the one. this backwards learning ability enabled him to not belong anywhere.

the integrity of this forum would be compromised if i described his vulgar confusion with 'the rubber ducky' song. especially dont ever ask him what 'big bird' means to him.

like the dangers of waking someone from sleep walking, never try to correct mr. jethro. the damage cannot be undone.

your understanding is appreciated,
ehaw
